We're hiring! Join us part-time for the holidays

We're looking for a special someone to join us at our Durham location part-time for the 2016 holiday season. Read on to see exactly what we're looking for and for application instructions.

NC Made, a Durham-based e-commerce business specializing in gift boxes of handcrafted North Carolina foods, seeks a part-time employee for the 2016 holiday season.

Responsibilities include:

• Assembling gift boxes from start to finish. This includes wrapping products, trimming materials, assembling corrugated boxes, inserting product, handwriting gift messages, and finishing each gift box in a careful, aesthetically-pleasing manner.
• Preparing completed gift boxes for shipping. This includes printing labels, assembling corrugated boxes, stuffing boxes carefully to avoid movement during shipping, and moving completed boxes outside (must be able to lift 30-40 pounds).
• Assisting with marketing activities. This includes distributing promotional postcards to retail establishments in the Triangle area, hanging posters, and taking photos to appear on social media.

Successful candidates will be:

• Interested in local food. We have a passion for local, artisan-made food, and it shows in our work.
• Careful, with strong attention to detail and an appreciation for good design. We focus on products with good package design and carry this through to our own gift box packaging, and this sets us apart from the competition. Good handwriting is a plus!
• Efficient and eager to work quickly and accurately. We love getting into the zone and listening to music, NPR, or podcasts while we work.
• Reliable. The holidays are the busiest time of year for us, and we are looking for dependable help.

This position will last from October 18 through December 21 with working hours on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays (daytime hours).  Average 15 hours per week.  Compensation is $14 per hour.  Work takes place at our home office located in the Duke Park neighborhood, one mile north of downtown Durham.
