Recipe: Country Ham Biscuits with Brown Sugar Butter
A supremely easy recipe, perfect for a potluck party appetizer or piled on a platter for brunch, our Country Ham Biscuits with Brown Sugar Butter are steeped in southern hospitality with a delightful sweetness.
Biscuits
4 cups self-rising flour (pref. White Lily)
8 T room temperature butter
1/2 cup room temperature cream cheese
1 1/2 cups buttermilk
salt!!
2 T melted butter
To bake, start at 500 degrees and then lower the oven to 450 degrees when you put them in in. Bake for 12-15 minutes.
Country Ham
Freeze 3/4 lb. country ham slices, then slice into large chunks and grate in food processor. Spread chopped ham on a baking sheet and bake at 450 degrees for 4 minutes. Stir, then bake another 1 1/2 minutes.
Brown Sugar Butter
1/2 cup butter
1 cup brown sugar
Melt butter + sugar in microwave for about 30 seconds or until butter is soft. Whip until it comes together.
Combining it all:
Halve biscuits
Spread brown sugar butter on one half.
Sprinkle ham on top. Sandwich biscuit and enjoy!
